BSW Presents "The 48 Laws of Power" FRIDAYS!!!

This year I have decided to create a reading series by using the book “The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene”. I have been wanting to read this book for awhile now and finally able to do so! A lot of people have said that this book is an endless read, so I decided to take my time and read it throughout the year so that I can thoroughly digest the book.

The book contains 48 “catchy title” laws with each law having its own section. There are laws of strategy, warnings against dangerous behavior and how to use seduction and deception. The author shows you have to use these laws to your advantage.

The author suggests that the book can be used in several ways. One can read the book straight through to learn about power in general. One can browse through the book to examine the laws that pertinent to them. Lastly, the book can be read as a form of entertainment. However he warns not to because supposedly “it becomes most amusing by taking it serious”.

I know already that one needs to have a high moral center before reading this book because just by browsing through it and reading some of the reviews, the laws have offended many. However I have always been a person with her own mind and enjoy thinking independently. Hey, sometimes it’s nice to have a healthy debate about things. I feel that this book may just be it.

Every Friday I will post a different law. Now I will not always discussed in detail about a particular law that’s featured, let’s just say that I am probably indifferent about it, it does not apply to anything that’s going on in my life at the present and/or I just don't care about that particular law.

Mainly, I want to see what all the fuss is about!! LOL!

See you next week with Law One!!!

I have about 10 books piled on top of this one on my bookshelf. When I first got it, I was soooo excited to read it. But everytime I looked at it, I thought to myself, it will take me forever to get through that book.

And I like the idea of the Friday posts. I had a similar idea in mind for Reading Has Purpose which I might still launch.

Looking forward to next week. Surely I can get through a chapter a week considering I usually demolish an entire book in 3-5 days!

Please join me!!! I would love to have someone to talk about the book with.. I don't think I (plus my readers of the blog) will get the full affect of the book if it is just my opinion I am spewing (sp?).
