Trying to read several books at one time!

I don't like mind clutter.  I know some are asking, "What is mind clutter?"  Mind clutter is when I have so much going on in my life and it is not organized, my mind gets clutter.

For example, my room is a mess right now.  Clothes are all on the floor.  My law books, binders and supplemental materials are all over the floor.  Lets not forget shoes, etc.  I have almost tripped on several occasions.  I know I need to clean my room, but I only have time to do it on Fridays and yes from Saturday - Thursday (with me only being in there to sleep) my room becomes a dumpster site.   Nevertheless by Wednesday my mind is a cluttered mess.

This is also how I feel when I read several books at one time.  For some reason (and I have tried) I cannot read more than one book at a time.  Its not that I get the story lines mixed up or anything like that, it just makes me feel that my mind is cluttered.  LOL.....  Currently I have 25 books in "Currently Reading" pile on Goodreads, but lets be realistic I am not reading all those books at the same time.  I was thinking (and I may actually do it) that I should take turns reading 50 pages of each book until I am finish with them, but I go and think "that's stupid", it will take me forever to finish a book.

Currently out of the 25, I am actually reading 5 and the remaining 20 or books I have read, but put down for whatever reason.  Luckily my goal of reading 20 minutes a day is going well.  I actually end up reading past the 20 minute mark.

So my question to you guys are, "Do you like reading more than one book at a time?"  If so, how do you do it?

I try it but one of the books usually knock the others out the way. LOL!
