It's here!!! Dewey Read-a-thon OCTOBER 2011!!

It's that time!  Dewey's Read-a-thon is here again! YEAH!  I have been so excited about this since finding out the fall date.  I blocked time off in my planner. I planned to do nothing but read and eat snacks between the hours of Noon to Midnight (Central Time).  HOWEVER life happens and now I am going to have to reschedule my time.  At first I thought I was not going to be able to do it at all, but at 5pm I WILL BE READING!!!  So instead of reading for 12 hours straight, I will be reading for 7 hours....

Until 5pm (central time) and when time allows (meaning I am in front of my laptop) I will be an unofficial cheerleader to blogs participating!

Nevertheless even though I will not participate in the read-a-thon until HOUR 10 (I think I am right, damn time zone converter... LOL) I am going to partake in the INTRODUCTION MEME.

Five things about me:

Where are you reading from today?
Today I will be coming from my bedroom in South Louisiana.

Three random facts about me...
The only fruit I eat is grapes and lemons.  LOL!  I hate fruit...

I am in the processing of making major career changes and have not told anyone!

Bridges scare me!  I just started driving on them a couple of years ago.

How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
I have a total of SIX books in my reading pile.

Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon?
My goal is to finish 1-2 books, get 100 pages further in another one, and at least 25-50 pages into the remaining 3 books.

If you're a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
Plan ahead the whats, whens, wheres, and hows.  Prepare a realistic book list, have snacks readily available, taking break EVERY hour to check blogs and twitter takes away PLENTY of reading time, and mix up the reading by reading small fictions books, make you feel that you accomplished something by completing small books....

How is the reading going for you so far?

Yeah! I'm glad you can participate after all. Thanks for cheerleading until you can finally join in the readin. I think Sense and Sensibility will be a great read-a-thon book.

The party’s starting to pop
And you’re already having fun.
Don’t let the momentum stop
And get some reading done!

No fruit?? That's crazy pants. Though I love grapes, too. Frozen even!

Enjoy the reading.

Thanks everyone!

I am finally at home and settled for the day and now the only thing I need to do is decide which book I want to read FIRST!! LOL
